Dr. Eve O’Toole B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Oxon), Ph.D

Dr. Eve O’Toole is Head of the Evidence and Quality Hub in the National Cancer Control Programme, HSE.  Eve has a M.Sc. in Evidence Based Health Care from the University of Oxford and a Ph.D in Biochemistry from UCD.  Eve is an advocate for Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and had been teaching EBP to health professionals for over ten years.  She founded the Evidence Hub in the National Cancer Control Programme and leads the development of National Clinical Guidelines including: Breast, Prostate, Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, Lung, Oesophageal, Ovarian, Colon and Rectal Cancer.  Eve has wide ranging experience in the development, use and teaching of evidence synthesis methodologies, and was a member of the National Clinical Effectiveness Committee subgroup for education.  Eve is the co-founder of Evidence Based Practice Ireland with a focus on building capacity for Evidence Based Practice in Ireland.
