A study within a review (SWAR) is a research study that can help provide evidence to inform decisions about how we plan, do and share the findings of future reviews. We launched an inaugural SWAR working group at the 2023 Cochrane Colloquium in London. This meeting brought together people who are interested in SWARs, and explored priorities for a SWAR network. We envision a network would explore SWAR methods, keep everyone up-to-date, and potentially explore challenges and opportunities around SWARs.
