Dr Sinéad Hynes is a lecturer in occupational therapy at the University of Galway and a registered occupational therapist in Ireland. Her research career has been exclusively in patient-focused research, particularly in multiple sclerosis. She is a principal investigator with a focus on improving occupational functioning for people with MS experiencing cognitive difficulties. Her research has a strong emphasis on stakeholder, particularly public and patient, involvement.

Sinéad has a keen interest in evidence synthesis and translation into clinical care. She teaches a module on evidence-based practice at the undergraduate level and has supervised summer students and postgraduate students in this area. She has published scoping reviews and is part of an international Cochrane review team focused on interventional research in multiple sclerosis.
