Saniya Shamim is a PhD scholar with Evidence Synthesis Ireland, based at the School of Medicine, University of Galway, under the supervision of Dr Finn Krewer. Her research focuses on automating citation screening in systematic reviews using artificial intelligence at the abstract screening stage. Prior to commencing her PhD, Saniya completed an MSc in Applied Clinical Data Analytics at the University of Galway and worked as a research assistant with the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics and the Clinical Research Facility Galway. Her broader research interests include AI-assisted evidence synthesis, prompt engineering, and the development of benchmark datasets to evaluate AI tools in systematic reviews.
