Dr Tomás Griffin is a Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes Mellitus and General Internal Medicine at Galway/Roscommon University Hospitals. He is the Clinical Lead for the Insulin Pump/Diabetes Technology Services at Galway University Hospitals and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the National University of Ireland Galway.
Dr Griffin is completing a PhD at the National University of Ireland Galway. His research investigates the utility of Novel Biomarkers in Diabetic Kidney Disease. He has a strong interest in the diagnosis and management of other complications of diabetes. This work is underpinned by several basic and translational research projects. He is also involved in the NEPHSTROM clinical trial, the Covit-D Consortium, and the INSPIRED research group.
Dr Griffin is a 1st honours graduate of the National University of Ireland Galway. During his postgraduate training and Higher Specialist Training, Tomás completed a Masters in Clinical Research (1st honours) (NUIG), a Diploma in Clinical Education (NUIG) and a Certificate in Healthcare Management (Smurfit School of Business, UCD).
