SUMU-Endo: Single-use versus Multiple-use Endoscopes in gastroenterology: a scoping review of clinical, economic and environmental literature followed by systematic reviews

Thomas Matthews is a Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology currently working at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. He was awarded a prestigious Foundation Scholarship at Trinity College Dublin before graduating in 2015.  He completed his internship at St James’s Hospital and his basic specialist training at Tallaght University Hospital where he was subsequently appointed as Lead Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor.  He was awarded a Master of Business Administration from TCD in 2020 before embarking on higher specialist training.  He has a particular interest in the fields of endoscopy and health economics.  He is looking forward to the development of his evidence synthesis capabilities over the course of this review aimed at assessing the relative benefits and disadvantages of single versus multiple use endoscopes.
