Dr Shaun O’Hagan

Dr Shaun O’Hagan is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases subspecialist registrar in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. He received his medical degree from Queen’s University Belfast and a first-class honours intercalated degree in International Health from the University of Leeds.

As Research Lead for the Northern Ireland Paediatric Education, Audit and Research Network (NI PEAR), Dr O’Hagan is committed to showcasing the incredible work of NI paediatric trainees; so all children and young people can benefit from regionalised guidelines, quality improvement and innovative research. Dr O’Hagan is particularly interested in respiratory viral infections in early life and recently co-authored a review article on the safety, efficacy and tolerability of Palivizumab in the prevention of severe Respiratory Syncytial Virus.
