Bernard McCarthy is a lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, NUI Galway. Bernard lectures on systematic reviews to students at NUI Galway, is a Cochrane author and is a member of the teaching faculty of ESI, having previously delivered systematic review training with Cochrane Ireland. Bernard’s methodological areas of expertise are randomised trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
The mission of Evidence Synthesis Ireland (ESI) is to make evidence syntheses more usable in every sense of the word – better designed, conducted and reported, more useable for decision makers and more usable within health care policy and clinical practice decision making across the island of Ireland and beyond.
