Mike Smalle
Position: Research Associate

Mike Smalle (B.A., MLIS) is an Academic Skills Librarian at NUI Galway, responsible for educating undergraduate and postgraduate students in information and digital literacy across all disciplines. Before taking up this position, he was the Librarian for Student Engagement and Success at the University of Limerick. For the past few years, the bulk of his work is in supporting students conducting different evidence syntheses (systematic reviews, qualitative evidence synthesis (QES) and scoping reviews) and systematic searching in healthcare research, psychology among other disciplines. He is co-author on published and ongoing QES with his colleagues in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at NUI Galway. During the Covid19 pandemic, Mike has also been co-author on a series of rapid reviews for Cochrane and The Centre for Evidence Based Medicine (CEBM, Oxford).
