Professor of Health Economics and Director of the Health Economics & Policy Analysis Centre (HEPAC) at University of Galway

Paddy is an Established Professor of Health Economics and Director of the Health Economics & Policy Analysis Centre (HEPAC) at the University of Galway. Paddy’s research activity is focused on the application of the techniques of health economic evaluation, including trial-based and decision model-based analysis, and health econometrics to inform health policy and healthcare practice. The output from this work, which has involved collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines, has been published in a range of leading national and international peer-reviewed journals. Beyond NUI Galway, Paddy is a research affiliate at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), an educator for the Trials Methodology Research Network (HRB TMRN), and health economics investigator for the Primary Care Clinical Trials Network Ireland (HRB PC CTNI), the Centre for Research in Medical Devices (CURAM), and the Centre for Personalised Medicine – Clinical Decision Making and Patient Safety (CPM).
